Embracing Fresh Starts
As the days grow longer and the world around us begins to bloom, Easter arrives as a beautiful reminder of renewal, hope, and new beginnings. Spring invites us to embrace fresh starts, whether in our homes, our relationships, or within ourselves. Just as nature awakens with vibrant color and life, this season encourages us to reflect, recharge, and look ahead with optimism.
Our Resident Council met in its new format in March and was quite successful. We will be using the information brought forward from that meeting and our Resident Satisfaction Survey to develop additional activities and more menu options for the residents, as well as make some changes to some of our staff policies and procedures to ensure the safest and highest quality of care for our family of residents.
We have implemented a new program to greet our newest residents. Resident Ambassadors!
The Resident Ambassadors will assist with greeting our new residents, introducing them to the other residents, and showing them the ropes here at Caring Hands, ensuring that they have a resource for questions and feel welcome and at ease in their new surroundings. Our Resident Ambassadors are Rosemary Sell and Stella Kapellen! We thank Rosemary and Stella for taking on this new role with us!
May this season of Spring and Easter bring warmth, joy, renewal and a sense of possibility to all!
It’s That Time of the Year Again!!!
Spring is springing up all over little warmer each day. It’s time to plant some great flowers to look at out of your windows. There is a wine barrel outside of your window that you are free to plant whatever flowers you like. If there is no wine barrel outside, please let us know so we can get one for you!
Monthly Reminders
As the weather gets warmer, please remember that you need sunscreen. If you need some, tell a caregiver and we can help you apply it. Research indicates that approximately 13–20% of older adults experience sunburn annually, often due to thinner, more vulnerable skin. While sunburn rates decrease with age, seniors face higher risks of severe reactions, such as blistering, infection, and skin cancer, necessitating consistent use of SPF 30+ and sun-protective clothing, particularly for men and those with sun-sensitive skin.
