Fall Crispness is Bittersweet!
Fall is coming! Kids are going back to school, the air is a little more crisp, leaves are starting to turn. It will be harvest season soon and the days are getting a little shorter. Football is starting up again (Go Pack Go! Badgers too!) and baseball is winding down (Go Brewers!). Don’t get me wrong – I will soak up every ounce of summer we have left, but I do enjoy the changing seasons.
Back to school is bittersweet for us – a lot of our college students have gone back to school and will only be with us on occasion-al weekends and breaks from school. The high school students in our Youth Apprenticeship program will be working their early morning hours before going to classes as well. We are so excited for them all to continue their journeys and very grateful to be able to guide them in that journey as well.
I hope you are able to get outside and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine while we still have them. Enjoy the sounds of the kids at school and football practices.

“Elvis” to Perform at Caring Hands!
John Hardginski, an Elvis Tribute Artist (ETA) or you can say “Elvis impersonator” if you like, will be performing at Caring Hands on Wednesday, September 16 at 2:00pm. As noted on John’s website, “As of August 2024 I have done an amazing 1,000 programs.” He further states that his “backing tracks are professional quality and my outfits are authentic reproductions of the beautiful costumes that Elvis wore on stage. For the fast songs I do the classic Elvis moves, including some karate at the end of Suspicious Minds. For ballads I like to walk out into the audience shaking hands and engaging people one on one. And of course I always have a few scarves to give away. I have won three contests and have been a finalist in all other events I have entered.”
John notes that, “My goal is to honor the memory of Elvis and to put a smile on each face by touching hearts and lifting spirits! Then together, we will create a little of the magic that was Elvis!”
